How RFID Is Changing EDI

Equipping containers with RFID tags allows a matching of the containers content for traceability purposes while allowing EDI ASN’s to be updated with accurate container serial shipping container code (SSCC) information. This is beneficial to organizations responding to customer demand or internally supporting GS1 standards as these same RFID tags can be used to generate Electronic Product Information Code Services (EPCIS) events. This session will review current trends, enhancements and the utilization of RFID data to enhance legacy technologies such as EDI as well as newer initiatives like GS1 EPCIS to increase operational performance.
