Victoria Thompson
VICKI THOMPSON started her current position with Superior Essex in May, 1998 as Director of Information Technology and was subsequently promoted to Vice President. She is responsible for all strategic and tactical Information Technology plans for the Magnet Wire Business Unit. As VP of Information Technology, she is responsible for all aspects of business computing including applications development, data and voice communications, systems operations and support, a call support center, and database development and reporting. Vicki was responsible for major cost-cutting successes including outsourcing of mainframe computing and migration to an ERP open system (QAD MFG/PRO) from legacy systems. During her tenure, she managed computing activities to support the merger of Essex Group with Superior Telecom, Inc., the divestiture of Essex Electric, Inc., the start of manufacturing facilities in Mexico, Canada and China, a Chapter 11 declaration and subsequent exit from Chapter 11, the year 2000 transition effort and the ERP (MFG/PRO) implementation across 9 manufacturing facilities and 21 warehouses. Her team successfully implemented MFG/PRO in China and also implemented the software when a Canadian manufacturing facility was acquired. Vicki was also a key participant on the Executive Council for an SAP ERP project (subsequently cancelled) entitled Genesis as a Lead for the Infrastructure Team while providing direction to the Information Technology department for maintaining day-to-day business transactions.
