Partnering QXtend With Ecommerce for a 3PL Solution

GLEN DIENER
Excel Industries

JAMES JAROSZ
Rocket Software

Excel Industries needed to utilize traditional EDI to send business documents to an external 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) warehousing company. However, the combination of Excel's business requirements and the non-standard way the 3PL company used EDI documents required a custom solution. Excel Industries partnered with Rocket Software to integrate EDI through QAD’s eCommerce and to assist with the QXtend integrations for the additional EDI documents that eCommerce cannot handle. Combining both QAD technologies provided a complete solution allowing Excel to synchronize disparate systems with the 3PL company, allowing Excel to successfully offload warehousing and shipping of components to their end-users.
